Call for Manuscripts
for the Florida Reading Quarterly

The Florida Reading Quarterly invites teachers and graduate students to submit original articles related to all areas of reading, literacy education, creative works, stories, and poems. The Florida Reading Quarterly (FRQ) has a readership of approximately 3000 teachers and teacher educators. The editorial board encourages articles about classroom practice and current issues related to literacy education. FRQ also publishes research syntheses and reviews of professional materials, including technology related to literacy

Authors are requested to submit only unpublished articles not under review by any other publication. A manuscript (8-14 pages) should be typed, double spaced, not right justified, not hyphenated, and should follow APA, 4th edition guidelines (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association). Tables and graphs should be used only when absolutely necessary.

Publication and Submission Schedule

Information for Authors:  Original articles related to all areas of reading will be welcomed by the editors and review board.  Authors are requested to submit only unpublished articles not under review by any other publication.  A manuscript (8-14 pages) should be typed, double spaced, not right justified, not hy­phenated, and should follow APA, 5th edition style guidelines.  Tables and graphs should be used only when absolutely necessary. 

Submit online as an email attachment which is Microsoft Word compatible, in either .doc or .rtf format (mac users please remember to add extensions).  A cover page is needed on giving the article title and the professional affiliation, complete address, e-mail, and phone number of the author(s). All other pages of the article should not contain any author identification information. 

The “anonymous” article is peer reviewed by three members of the Editorial Board. The editors reserve the right to edit all copy. Contributors desiring more information may request the "Preparation of Manuscripts" guidelines by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the editor.

If you can not submit electronically and wish to submit articles by postal services,

Submit four good copies with print the quality of an original (i.e., clear, dark letters on white paper with no extraneous marks).  Include with the paper copies a disk copy of the article to be considered for publication (either a standard floppy or CD disk). A cover page is needed on one copy giving the article title and the professional affiliation, complete address, email, and phone number of the author(s).
